It’ll make sense when you watch the video, or perhaps if you’re obsessed with classic movies like I am. I’ll give you a few tips on how to do each of those, but the exercise (PDF) is a great resource too. In this video, I also draw comparisons between the four types of bloggers and four types of “concert goers,”.

I went off a bit the other day on Twitter regarding overcomplexity in fiction — I’ve seen it too many times now, especially across SFF and across thrillers or even horror novels, where convoluted characters motivations and plots get in the way of a damn good story.

Thankfully, after months and months away from this space, I’ve gained some clarity in how all this will transform. I plan to visit back soon to fill everyone in. In the meantime I wanted to share one of my favorite brands with you as I’m knee deep in a living room makeover.

I’ve got lots of exciting posts half written/half scheduled for the remainder of January. Can’t wait to share some fun projects I’ve been working on as well as some more Freelance Journey posts. The first topic I’d like to chat about is how to tailor your portfolio to get the clients you REALLY want.

Feeling the pressure to constantly produce valuable, one-of-a kind content for your blog? I know I am. It’s pretty darn time consuming and when your job title isn’t solely “blogger”, the pressure to keep up can sometimes be debilitating. For me, I use blogging as a way to connect with other creatives and to gain exposure to new clients interested in the work I’m sharing.
